Good O’ 12
Playing bubble breaker on my phone is good. Playing bubble breaker on my phone while pooping is really good!

I had a rough day today. Left work 3 hours late from work and then ended up getting a flat tire. That does not = good.
In fact, I really struggled to come up with something good from today. Thankfully, I know good people.
Diane sent me (and Alisha) our “birthday” present… she sent it before her birthday when I blogged about me sending her birthday gift on a random day throughout the year. She must have thought it was so funny that I talked about this just after she returned the favor to me.
She did real good. She sent us Shaw-Wow (something I always wanted but would never buy). I have to say that it is simply Sham-tastic! As a nice added touch, she sent us birthday cards about butts… classy!
Another good thing… my friend Brendan left a comment today that I want to make sure that everyone sees. He was giving me props on blogging everyday (ultimately what made me break down and blog tonight- thanks Brendan!) and reminded me about a part of his blog (which I love and can be found off to the right in the blogroll) that he did about 5 years ago. He was fascinated with my tie tying ability and so he created a step-by-step tutorial on how to create a decent knot. Since then I have actually added a step into my daily procedure, but it does the job nicely. Check out the goodness at http://www.brendangates.com/tie/
10 days down… that’s 2.74% of the year. Good stuff!
Best thing that happened today was that Brett Favre decided to stay retired (for now).
The bad part of the deal is that I was actually looking forward to getting one of these shirts…
genius.
I didn’t even celebrate my one week anniversary of blogging! I didn’t even think about it.
Speaking of things that I forget about frequently… birthdays. I am terrible at remembering birthdays. For example, my sister Diane has a birthday every year, but I have no idea when it is. That is why I send her cards for her birthday at random times throughout the year.
So it is apparently Diane’s birthday today. The only reason I know is because my other sister, Debbie texts me every time there is a family birthday- except Debbie didn’t text me when it was her birthday and I am pretty sure I forgot. I should try to remember hers at the least, right?
Anyways, birthdays are good and text messages reminding me are even better! Thanks sisters!
Happy Birthday, Diane!!! I love you!! Next year I will remember all on my own, I promise.
Jeremiah is currently unemployed… if you know him, tell him how jealous you are (he likes that when I do that). The other day he told me that he lives like Garfield- he sleeps, and then he wakes up, and then he eats, and then goes back to sleep. Which he admitted was what his idea of heaven was, lots of napping, eating, and more napping.
So far I have had one of those heavenly Garfield days. It is currently 4:24 pm and this is what I have accomplished… slept until noon, eat the delicious french toast that Alisha made me, watched the last 10 km of the final competitive stage of the Tour de France, and then took a nap until just now.
I didn’t realize how good Garfield had it… thanks Jeremiah!
Goodness = weekends.
I’m super glad that the work week is over… and as a nice treat for a job well done was the Coldplay concert. I don’t know that it was better than the last time they played St. Louis, but it was real good. The drummer, Will, kinda stole the show tonight. I think he played every instrument and sang on a bunch of songs, which was good because Chris Martin (and his voice) seemed tired. It really didn’t matter though. Coldplay concerts are a sensory sensation that have yet to disappoint. Besides, they handed out free tour CD’s at the door as a thank you. That was a good and classy move Coldplay, cheers!
Tonight was a good music night.
Jeremiah, Harry, Mark and I went downtown and met Joe to see the band Paper Route. The place that they were playing (the firebird) was so hard to find, we drove past it about 17 times before we realized which ‘brick building’ it was. I was starting to get frustrated that we were so late, but it ended up being a good thing…
As we pulled in the parking lot, I noticed a familiar song on the radio… It was “That Girl” by the Fundamental Elements. For those of you not in the know yet, “FE” is a funk/soul/rock band from the St. Louis area (just so happens that Joe is in the band). At that moment, Joe called me to see where I was because he was in the parking lot waiting for us. He came over to the car and we obviously rocked out to the rest of the song- which happens to be written about my great niece, Elle. This was the first time he had heard one of his songs on the radio (I had heard another song a few nights ago). I always wondered what that moment is like the first time you hear one of your songs on the radio… I obviously still don’t know, but it was so cool to experience it with Joe! Here’s to plenty of radioplay experiences!! And here’s to ’89.1 the wood’ for playing such good music!!
As far as how the concert went tonight… it was so good. I really enjoyed them, even though they didn’t play CRS!
Is there anything better than taking a day off work??
Today I helped Chris and Laura move from a kinda ghetto apartment into a much nicer and bigger apartment. The only downfall I can see is that they no longer live right next to the batting cages!
Ron and I hit a few rounds of pitches. I love the batting cages, but this is only the second time that I have gone since “the incident”. It’s good that this didn’t happen again…
About a year ago, we went to the cages with our friends Will and Brandy. I was showing off in the fast pitch baseball cage- meaning I foul tipped most of them, but at least I made contact. After the round was over and the light had turned off I started picking up the balls that I fouled off to toss them up in the air and hit them. As I am bended over picking up the balls (standing right on top of the painted plate), I hear Brandy gasp which really could be for a million different reasons, but I just knew it was about one thing. I immediately stood straight up and took a 80 mph fastball off the chest. It hurt so much!!! Good thing I stood up though… the chest can take the “Happy Gilmore” treatment much better than the noggin’ (with or without a helmet, which I was wearing).
Now for a good thing that actually did happen today… Alisha made a killer shrimp scampi for dinner because the Patterson’s came over. We had so much fun! Mark and I goofed off all night and then Kristy (a skilled hair stylist) trimmed up my mullet. Alisha does not think that mullets look good… weird, huh?
I just noticed this…
it’s good when your blog is quoted on another (random) person’s blog- he isn’t making fun of me is he??

What a an unbelievable promotional food day today was!!!
An early start to the day gave me the chance to go over to my S’bucks (that Todd G works at now) to celebrate Free Pastry Day. I am still trying to figure out how this isn’t a national holiday. I enjoyed a nice loaf of chocolate chip banana goodness along with a grande white mocha and it just started the day off right.
If that wasn’t enough… It was also Chick-fil-A’s Receipt Day! Seriously, I don’t know why I didn’t get at least a half day off work today. Receipt Day is when you save your receipt from today’s purchase and then come back anytime next week, hand them that receipt and they gather together the same order and hand it to you… for free! (thanks kel, for reminding me!)
What’s for dinner?? I hope it’s something good.
Two days, and I am still going strong!
Today wasn’t a bad day actually. Could there be a direct relationship between the temperature being above 72 degrees and my attitude?
Tonight Ron and Debbie came over and we ate at our favorite place on the hill- Mama Campisi’s. I never leave that place disappointed- good food and bizarre, one of a kind experiences! Debbie brought me some of my kid pictures that she found and an article about me graduating from high school… apparently my entire hometown was so amazed that I was actually graduating that they put an article on the front page of the newspaper.
“Then the slim soccer player pried his shoes from his packed closet and headed downstairs in search of his belt. He slipped into his purple robe and modeled for Jeffy and other family members.” This is riveting stuff… so much so that it was continued on page 2A. How good is that?
